The Beginning

I have no preconceived ideas of how or what to post on a blog. I don't follow a lot of blogs, but I'm checking them out as I go. My job as an editor doesn't leave me a lot of time to write, but it provides inspiration and ideas for writing. It is likely those ideas, fully developed, or still building, that I will post here.
I'm not sure this is a diary, a commentary, or simply venting from a hectic day. It is part of my roller coaster, ups and downs of the daily struggles of editing other people's copy to publish in a weekly newspaper, only to come home to family obligations and creative pursuits, the latter of which I struggle to fulfill. Translation: I have a lot of unfinished projects!
Now I am engaged in learning still more about computing...blogging. If you're reading this and I've committed a computer sin...a do not do effect, I hope someone will let me know. I will stick to original material or perhaps comments on the original material of others.
I've read blogs where it is a laundry list of the comings and goings of an average person where they literaly tell me about their laundry and grocery list. That is NOT what I'm looking for and I hope I don't offer it...that would be desperation.
At this point, you have decided I have nothing to say...Not so. I just don't know what I want to say...there is a lot going on...afterall this is the political season and everyone has an opinion whether you want to hear it or not. I'm no different.
In recent years, I've discovered I'm more conservative than liberal, but less conservative than my conservative friends and family...read that moderate. Until two years ago, I didn't know what moderate was, but I think that is my description at least until they come up with a new word for it.
With election day two days away, I should declare my intentions: I will vote. And I'm considering voting early...guess that means Monday. And 'less any of my friends, family or co-workers have any doubt, I will vote Republican. I can't think of any reason not to...and that of course is my commentary on the opposing candidates...they don't fill the bill and they are frankly quite scary. I know in a few races I may be in a minority, but not where it counts. I live in a Republican part of the state and I like it that way. The Republicans here are not the stereotypical kind of big business and cocktail parties, and that said I think most Republicans don't fit that stereotype...at least where I live. Most are "regular" people and they will remember the rest of us in Augusta and Washington.
By the time I post again, I will know who is going to respective capitols...maybe I'll have thoughts on that.
